What you need to start
An official qualification and current professional registration. No previous experience is required, and the requirements are the same for a new graduate as for someone with twenty years in practice. Livo verifies identity, qualifications, registration and documentation before enabling a profile, so there is a check between signing up and your first shift.
Signing up and using the platform are free. There is no membership fee, no commission on the shift, and no minimum number of shifts to keep your account active.
How you get paid and what happens if you cannot make it
Payment is handled by the contracting facility, on the terms agreed between the parties, and follows each hospital’s own calendar. Usually that means the end of the month or the start of the next. Livo facilitates the connection and the administrative follow-up, but is not the employer.
If you cannot attend a confirmed shift, give notice as early as possible so an alternative can be found. Unjustified late cancellations can lead to temporary penalties on your account, and it is worth knowing that from the start because it affects your relationship with facilities.
Choosing shifts with a plan, not stacking them up
Shifts in different units are experience in different units, and that variety is an asset when you can explain what you learned in each one. What does not build a profile is adding up shifts with no plan.
There is also a less obvious advantage: if a facility interests you long-term, working shifts there before accepting a permanent offer turns a decision based on an interview into a decision based on having seen the unit from the inside.
